Cannon County Schools closed today and tomorrow due to illness. There was a 13% student absence rate and over 30 staff absent last Friday.
Staff will use this time to disinfect the schools before students return.
"It was difficult trying to find substitutes for all the teachers that were sick which is why we had to close for these two days" said Cannon County Director of Schools William F. Curtis.
Schools are expected to start back up on Wednesday.
