A European Union Drug Regulation found a possible link between the AstraZeneca COVD-19 vaccine and a rare clotting disorder.
The drug regulator declined to impose any new age restrictions saying the benefits still outweigh the risks. However, it would offer people under 30 the choice of another product.
The European Medicines Agency described the clots as a very rare side effect and most of the cases reported occurred in women under 50 within two weeks of vaccination.
