February 8th, 2021

Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron is ready to eliminate littering and illegal dumping in the area. He plans to ask the County Commissions to support a significant increase in a meeting set for Thursday night, February 11th, at 6:00 p.m. according to a meeting release from the city of Murfreesboro.

“The only way we are ever going to clean up our county is to put some teeth into our littering laws”, Ketron states, “we do that by increasing the fine and enforcing it!” Ketron would like to raise the fine from $50 to $500 for the first offense and $500 for each additional offense.

Ketron calls municipalities to action to enforce this resolution. He states, “we are fed up with illegal dumping in our county, and will do what we can to crack down on offenders.”
