MTSU Looks to Keep Hot Streak Going

By DeAndre Williams MTN Sports Reporter April 16, 2021

Murfreesboro — The MTSU softball team (18-17) seem to have gotten hot at the right time last weekend, going 3-1 in the series against Marshall. MTSU gets ready to face C-USA rivals WKU (15-6) for this weekend series at home.

“Our rival WKU is really really good with great pitching… The formula is going to be pretty much the same, timely hits, solid defense, and great pitching” said MTSU head coach Jeff Breeden.

The bats has been on fire recently as Kelci Hill was named C-USA Hitter of the Week for her performance against Marshall, and MTSU is atop of C-USA as a team in hits (273), sacrifice bunts (30), stolen bases (56), and fielding percentage (.968).

The series begins at MTSU on Friday at 6 p.m. with a double-header Saturday at 2 p.m.
