Rutherford County Fire Rescue (RCFR) saved two males from Snail Shell Cave in Rockvale on Sunday, September 13th.
The RCFR received a call that two men had entered the cave and were stuck. The entrance that the two men used to enter the cave was cut off by heavy rainfall that was quickly rising. After assessing the situation the RCFR contacted the Hamilton County Rescue Squad, who specializes in cave rescue. The RCFR set up a rope system to pull the people out of the cave.
After they made it back to dry land, they were evaluated by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS). Everyone was reported safe and no injuries were reported.
