Butch Eley, the Tennessee department of finance and administration commissioner, announced that tax revenue exceeded budgeted estimates for last month.
These taxes included sales, gasoline, motor vehicle registration, tobacco, business, franchise, and excise taxes, among others.
With such a large revenue balance, the state believes the fiscal year will end above estimates.
Inflation and fuel costs are still a concern, and the budget will still be monitored closely.
