Rutherford County employees and volunteers participated in a food packaging event that provided over 61,000 meals.
The meals consisted of rice, beans, vegetables, soy proteins, and seasonings.
Mayor Bill Ketron says, "This is the second year we were able to host this community outreach event."
Several local nonprofits received the food and all volunteers wore mandatory personal protective equipment as required by COVID-19 health guidelines.
