The Blue Raider volleyball team bounced back at home as they defeated the Sam Houston Bearkats on Saturday and Sunday.
MTSU was coming off a road trip to Florida where they split their two matchups against FIU. However, the Bearkats came into this weekend losing five of their first six conference matches in their debut season for C-USA.
On Saturday it was all MTSU as they claimed victory by scores of 25-14, 25-20, and 25-11 to win the match in three sets.
MTSU had total control of the match reaching a hitting percentage of .520 in the third set and holding the Bearkats to a -.096 hitting percentage for the whole match.
The Blue Raiders continued their dominance on Sunday, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-19 to go 6-for-6 on the weekend against Sam Houston.
Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson reached the 100 career solo block mark on Sunday after recording four solo blocks during the match.
The victories propel MTSU to a share of third place in the C-USA standings at a 5-3 record. The Bearkats fall to 1-7 in conference play.
The Blue Raiders travel to Louisiana on Friday and Saturday for two matchups against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
