A Cheatham county sheriff deputy was killed in a crash yesterday.
Deputy Stephen Reece was crossing an intersection when he was hit by a white cargo van.
The van did not have stop sign. However, Reece did but did not stop, and was not wearing a seatbelt.
Reece was a member of the Cheatham County Sheriff's Department for seven months, and was an officer in Nashville before that.
The driver of the van was injured and remains in the hospital today.
