Fatal Party Shooting Still Under Investigation

The Murfreesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Saturday,

February 6 that left two injured and one dead.


An altercation broke out among several people at a party at a duplex on Ewing Blvd. shortly after 3 a.m. Twenty-one-year-old Giovanni Gillis was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other male victims were taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and were then transported to a Nashville hospital where they are currently in stable conditions with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other partygoers were grazed by bullets, but refused medical treatment.


Police are still looking for the shooter. Anyone with information about the shooting, the suspect, or anyone with photos or video is asked to contact lead detective Cody Thomas.
