A stove fire broke out last Friday at the Rivermont Apartments, forcing two people to evacuate.
The preliminary investigation reveals the parents of the man living in the apartments were helping him move when they noticed a fire in the kitchen.
911 was called immediately to report the fire and only unit was damaged, while every other unit was evacuated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department.
