A former La Vergne Police Chief was arrested again following just one month after he was charged with aggravated stalking.

Burrel Calvin “Chip” Davis was arrested in Murfreesboro on Wednesday following a domestic incident.

Davis was charged with four counts of aggravated kidnapping, felony aggravated assault, two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault and four counts of misdemeanor interference with emergency calls.

Davis is being held on a $145,000 bond with his hearing set for March 5th in the Rutherford County General Sessions Court.

This arrest follows just one month following a prior arrest for aggravated stalking after violating an order of protection. Davis has faced termination and in December 2024 was decertified following explicit text messages amid a sex scandal at the La Vergne Police Department. This means that unless Davis is recertified, he cannot serve as a police officer in the state of Tennessee or any other state.

Murfreesboro Police Department says that the case remains under investigation.
