RUTHERFORD COUNTY INVESTIGATORS HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A CASE FOR ALMOST A YEAR THAT INVOLVED A HOUSE FIRE ON VALENTINES DAY LAST YEAR, THIS LED TO THE ARREST OF SHANNA GILPIN AND HER CONVICTION IN AUGUST 2021.
AFTER MANY HOURS OF INVESTIGATIVE WORK THE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINED THAT GILPIN SET THE FIRE INTENTIONALLY. GILPIN HAD PREVIOUSLY PLED GUILTY TO ARSON AND AGGRAVATED BURGLARY LAST MONTH AND ALL OF THIS CAME AFTER BEING EVICTED FROM THE HOME ON WOODBURY PIKE. FIRE MARSHAL JOSHUA SANDERS SAID, "RUTHERFORD COUNTY INVESTIGATORS WORKED MANY HOURS ON THE CASE TO DETERMINE THAT THE FIRE WAS INTENTIONALLY SET BY MS. GILPIN." RUTHERFORD COUNTY FIRE RESCUE ASK FOR THE PUBLICS CONTINUED ASSISTANCE WHEN IT COMES TO CRIMES OF ARSON.
