Rutherford County Emergency Communications District is set to re-name its 9-1-1 Admission
and Training center after John D. Hood via virtual ceremony on Friday.
The ceremony will take place immediately prior to this week’s 9-1-1 Board meeting.
Hood is no stranger to Rutherford County, as he was born in Murfreesboro and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from MTSU.
The Middle Tennessee native has been on the board since its founding in 1986, also serving as treasurer.
“You cannot be from Rutherford County without hearing the name ‘John Hood’ at least once,”said Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron. “I was proud to nominate John for this honor for his years of service to the 9-1-1 Board.”
Hood is presently the director of government and community affairs at MTSU.
