As we enter the final stretch of 2020, the amount of material advocating people to vote in the upcoming presidential election is reaching its peak. Signs can be seen everywhere encouraging people to make sure they are registered to vote. Many also display voting information and where to register online for your specific area.
MTSU has embraced the movement, and is even holding voter registration on campus from September 14-17. While making sure that everyone is registered is very important, making sure voters are properly informed is also crucial.
As a result, MTSU is also holding “Constitution Day” this week on Thursday, September 17th.
Not only will there be a virtual interactive conversation via Zoom featuring several guest speakers, there will also be announced readings at two scheduled times.
Here’s a quick rundown of the day’s events & times:
(10:00 – 11:15 a.m.) Reading of the Constitution at the Hall of Fame Bldg.
(12:00 – 1:15 p.m.) Reading of the Constitution in front of the Honors College.
(3:00 p.m.) Campus-wide interactive Zoom conversation (“Voting Access, Equity, Justice: Beyond Celebration”).
The online event can also be viewed on https://livestream.com/mtsu, MTSU’s Facebook, the MTSU YouTube channel, and even possibly your television on True Blue TV.
