A young lady from Memphis has made quite an impact in the Murfreesboro area with her sultry vocals and touching lyricism.
Singer/songwriter, KAY-T, discovered her voice while singing in the church choir as a child.
She continued to develop her vocal abilities throughout her adolescence and all the way through college, where she graduated with a degree in music business in 2024.
Self-described as a mix of R&B and Neo-Soul with an alternative feel, KAY-T draws upon
influences like Erykah Badu, Keyshia Cole and Lauryn Hill. She performs at local venues often
and even won “Best R&B/Soul Artist” at the 2024 National Industry of Music Awards.
MTN reporter, Trey Godsey, had the opportunity to speak with KAY-T to discuss her upcoming single, her musical journey thus far, her go to order at one of her favorite Memphis restaurants, and so much more.
KAY-T's new single titled “Corine Betts” will be released on Saturday, March 29.
