Lady Raiders advance to C-USA semis

By Isaac Hillis MTN Sports Reporter March 12, 2021

MTSU defeated Louisiana Tech on Thursday in the Conference USA quarterfinal round by a score of 77-71.

The program has not made the semifinal round of the tournament since 2014.

Louisiana Tech entered the fourth quarter with a one point lead. However, Anastasia Hayes scored 12 of her game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

“We executed on defense tremendously in the fourth quarter,” said Anastasia Hayes.

“Anastasia was able to get the corner two or three times, if she gets the corner it's over with,” said head coach Rick Insell.

MTSU plays UTEP in tonight's semifinal round. It will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30.
