As coronavirus cases continue to rise in Tennessee, MTSU has just announced its first case.
The university sent out an email to students and staff that a student living on-campus has tested positive for the novel virus.
The student is said to be living in a private bedroom at the Scarlett Commons Apartments.
Symptoms appeared with the student during the extended spring break, and the student is currently self-isolating.
All students and staff who has had contact with this student has been notified and advised to take the necessary precautions to prevent a further spread.
