The Office of Intercultural and Diversity Affairs is celebrating Black History Month by hosting a series of events throughout the month of February. The month-long events will celebrate the history and heritage of African Americans and the African Diaspora. This year’s theme is African Americans and the Vote.
On February 3rd, a Black History Month Kickoff was held in the Student Union Atrium. A cake-cutting took place to celebrate the beginning of the month. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students, faculty, and staff members mingled, ate cake, and learned about the month’s long events.
The majority of these events are free and open to the public. For the calendar of events, visit https://www.mtsu.edu/aahm/docs/bhm-calendar.pdf.
