Murfreesboro, TN — After back-to-back victorious weekends against C-USA preseason No. 1 WKU (17-9) and No. 2 Marshall (15-8), the MTSU softball team (21-18) is second in C-USA East standings. The Raiders expect to keep up the resiliency against FAU (9-26) in Florida this weekend.
“When you look back at our season, the turning point was when we came back from down six runs against Marshall and decided we could do it and we're good enough to play with the top caliber teams in our conference,” said head coach Jeff Breeden.
Breeden believes the crowd support is better than ever.
“We really enjoy being at home. I think our fan support is great, and I think we have a home field advantage for the first time in my career, and I’d venture to say for the first time in the 29 years of this program. I thank our fans for coming out, and it was a fun place to be.”
Corrina Dodd was named C-USA and TSWA Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season following a 2-0 record and 0.91 ERA in the 3-1 series win over Western Kentucky, and eight different Blue Raiders have a walk-off hit in 2021, and MTSU is 6-2 in extra inning games this season.
The series will begin Friday at 5 p.m. in Boca Raton.
