MTSU Soccer Looks to Bounce Back Against Chicago State

Updated: Oct 2, 2023

By MTN Sports Reporter: Ian Wolfe

MTSU Women’s Soccer is looking to bounce back against Chicago State Friday after a run of poor form.

The Blue Raiders have lost five of their last six games and need to improve their results. With the team having an extra day for practice, they have an opportunity to take advantage of the extra preparation.

When asking Coach Rhoden about training and being able to take advantage of having more practice to prepare for this game, he said, “Training has been good.” He continued, “The extra day gave us some time to work on a few components that will help us in upcoming games.”

Chicago State has a similar record to the Blue Raiders but are coming off a win. Coach Rhoden recognizes they are more than their record shows and will have to prepare correctly. “Chicago State’s record does not reflect how good a team they are.” Going on to say, “They are good in possession and have several strong players we will have to be aware of.”

MTSU is looking for their fourth win of the season and their third at home. The match against Chicago State is at home at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium on Friday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
