MTSU Softball begins conference play at Charlotte

The MTSU softball team (14-12) begins Conference USA play on Thursday with a four-game series at Charlotte (14-7).


The Blue Raiders have struggled against Charlotte, with a 5-14 record all time.


MTSU is second in C-USA with 43 stolen bases led by freshman outfielder Jaya Herring with a total of 10 bases stolen. Sophomore outfielder Kelci Hill leads the Blue Raiders with a .356 batting average and 26 hits. Summer Burgess leads team with 14 runs, six doubles and a .438 slugging percentage while hitting for an average of .313.


The series begins Thursday at 4 p.m. in Charlotte.
