The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department has a new station. Station 4 is up and running at 1321 Medical Center Parkway, and will replace the old Station 4. The new station is a considerable upgrade compared to the old one, and features both a 100 foot Aerial Mid Mount Platform, a helix slide, and enhanced response capabilities, being within 2 miles of the two tallest buildings in downtown Murfreesboro.
Station 4 will also house the Water Rescue Team. The WRT, previously located at the station off Thompson Lane, will have easy access to the water emergencies in the area, as well as the ability to train at the Manson Pike Trailhead Dam and Stones River nearby.
The station will also feature a small Police Precinct and quarters for a second Battalion Chief.
