Murfreesboro Man Threatens Family with Loaded AR 15

On January 24th, 2019 Murfreesboro Police were called to a domestic situation. Upon arrival at 100 Arnold Lane, officers spoke with the suspect's father who explained that his son, Andrew Tennyson, 29, was making threats inside the home with a loaded AR 15 rifle and refusing to leave.


MPD, Special Operations Unit were dispatched and set up a perimeter around the home. Tennyson stepped out the back door to smoke a cigarette, allowing officers to take him into custody. The weapon and drug paraphernalia were confiscated.


Upon booking at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, officers noticed a small bag of marijuana inside a pack of cigarettes Tennyson had in his position.


Tennyson was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault, Simple Possession of Schedule VI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
