Murfreesboro's NAACP "In the City"

The February edition of ‘In the City,’ will air on CityTV throughout the month to showcase what’s happening in the Murfreesboro.


'In the City’ is hosted by award-winning multimedia journalist Michael Linn White and produced by Steve Burris every month in the studios located at Murfreesboro City Hall.


The show will be showcasing various events occurring in the city of Murfreesboro, some of those events include:


-The Murfreesboro Chapter of the NAACP hosted its annual MLK Jr. Breakfast, honoring local heroes


-Bradley Academy Museum sponsored a “Women’s Suffrage Educational Forum Through Art and Discussion” as Tennessee and the nation celebrates the 100th anniversary of voting rights for women


-Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation is rolling out a new environmentally conscious campaign called Bring It to reduce the use of Styrofoam coffee cups at Parks facilities


-The local United Way is working to impact financial stability in the community, including VITA, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance for low-and-moderate income residents. ‘In the City’ takes you to the kick-off event as United Way chairman David Urban touts this United Way mission


The February 2020 episode is airing on CityTV throughout the month or anytime on YouTube and Facebook. The monthly magazine show airs every day at 8:00 a.m., 6:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. on Channel 3, and also airs on Comcast Xfinity Channels 3 and 1094, Channel 99 on AT&T Uverse, Roku, Apple TV via Cablecast Screenweave app, and YouTube.
