Nashville Check Fraud

Spencer Barton, MTN Reporter

February 10th, 2021

According to Public Information Officer Larry Flowers, in November of 2020, a Nashville resident sent a check for $135.74 to Comcast.

However, the resident was informed by Pinnacle Bank that the check was altered and spent on three $200 gift cards at a Walmart located at 2900 S. Rutherford Blvd in Murfreesboro, TN.

The resident of Nashville reported the theft and fraud to Metro Nashville police Department. However, because the crime occurred in Murfreesboro, the Murfreesboro Police Department is now in charge of conducting the investigation.

If you have any information on the identity of the person pictures, please contact Detective Earl Crow at 629-201-5504 or email at 0849@murfreesborotn.gov.
