Pete Buttigieg Suspends Presidential Campaign
Former South Bend mayor and potential Democratic Party Presidential nominee has suspended his campaign.
Buttigieg announced his campaign suspension on Saturday in front of supporters and husband, Chasten Buttigieg.
Although Buttigieg finished in the top four each contest, he states his reason for dropping out is to promote unity. "We must recognize that at this point in the race, the best way to keep faith with those goals and ideals is to step aside and help bring our party and country together.” Buttigieg did not endorse any specific fellow democratic runners but does promote party unity.
Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Amy Klobuchar now remain as the prominent runners in the democratic primary.
