Smyrna Fire Department Receives Certification to Conduct Life Safety Inspections

Smyrna, TN- The Smyrna Fire Department recently hosted the Fire Inspector I training course at Smyrna Fire Station 2. 

Nine people from Smyrna Fire Department, along with people from other departments across Middle Tennessee, completed the necessary training and testing to receive their State Fire Inspector Certification. 

“Smyrna Fire Department is committed to completing Life Safety Inspections in partnership with our business community,” said Smyrna Fire Chief Bill Culbertson. “Our shared goal is to keep our citizens safe. Training multiple personnel as State Certified Fire Inspectors ensures that our department has the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct inspections and educate our community to mitigate risk.” 

Life safety inspections will occur in every commercial, industrial, institutional and similar type buildings once every year. 

Inspections for 2020 will begin mid-February.
