The Community Vikings scored over 100 points for the first time in their gym in three years, exploding for a 101-47 homecoming win against Marshall County on Friday night. The Vikings were led by senior Kobe Pride with 21 points.
“We haven’t got 100 in a long time, it might have been on Homecoming my freshman year,” said Pride. “But it felt good knowing that we got it.”
Vikings point guard Alex Mitchell kept the team’s scoring pretty diverse by moving the ball quick and efficiently all game.
“I love these guys so much,” said Mitchell. “I know they are working to get the ball and it’s my job as a senior and a leader of this team to get them the ball. We are playing our best basketball, and our bench is playing great too.”
The Vikings bench combined for 47 points, including 19 points from Stratton Lovvorn. The other chunk of scoring came from the Vikings’ big man duo of Pride and Corde Lane with a combined 35 points.
The Vikings will ride their 10-game win streak against Forrest in Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
