Blue Raiders Baseball Pitching for History

By Brendan Daniel

Murfreesboro - Pitchers Zach Kenan and Adam Link combined for a first one-hitter since Paul Mittura in 2014. A snow delay did not stop these hot handed pitchers beating Bradley 5-0, winning their home opener and improving the team's overall record to 1-3.

“It snowed for two or three hours, so we pushed it back and hour, and then Kennan and Link really pitched well,” said MTSU head coach Jim Toman.

Link gave up the only hit with two outs and two strikes in the 9th inning. He wound up with a save, striking out six batters over three innings. Kenan gets his first win of the season, allowing one walk and seven strikeouts in six innings of work.

“We were one strike away from a no-hitter, which would have been beautiful, but we're just happy about this win,” said Toman.

The Blue Raiders next opponent will be Evansville at 3:00 p.m. at home.
