Murfreesboro City Council authorized a property exchange with New Vision Baptist Church this past Thursday. This exchange will allow the city to gain the right of way for W. Northfield Blvd., as well as purchase a construction easement for $5,815.
The deal is part of Murfreesboro’s 2040 Major Transportation plan, which aims to ready the city for future expansion.
Buying the property is considered a “short-term” improvement while other roads are being completed.
The larger goal of the project is to extend Northfield Blvd. over to the West Fork of the Stones River, which connects to North Thompson Lane.
The road is projected to finish in December of this year.
