MURFREESBORO, TN -- An early morning fire in Murfreesboro severely injured an elderly woman in her home on December 15. She escaped her home before fire personnel arrived on the scene around 3:15 a.m. Located on Sycamore Circle, construction workers heard screaming and ran over to help assist the woman in getting away from the burning building, according to Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department.
Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department quickly arrived and treated her on the scene along with Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services. She was transported to Ascension Saint
Thomas Rutherford Hospital before being moved to Vanderbilt Medical Center Burn Unit,
according to MFRD. At the moment, there’s no update on her current condition. Heavy smoke and fire surrounded the one-story home when the fire unit arrived, according to
