MTSU’s Police Department released their Annual Security Report of 2019 according to the
Clery Act. The report includes information about crime that has occurred on MTSUs campus or in the area of the campus police department.
The report includes statistics from the previous three years, 2016-2018. It shows a decrease trend in crime from the year before but there are three crimes that have increased over the past three years.
Fondling went from one case in 2017 to five cases in 2018. Motor Vehicle Theft went from three in 2016, four in 2017 to nine in 2018. Stalking on the other almost doubled from the 2017-2018 year from ten incidents in 2016, fourteen incidents in 2017 to twenty-six incidents in 2018.
There are, on the other hand, six notable decreases.
Rape went from 3 in 2016, 6 in 2017 to 4 in 2018.
Robbery from 3 in 2016, 1 in 2017 to 0 in 2018.
Aggravated Assault from 1 in 2016, went up to 5 in 2017 but back down to 0 in 2018.
Burglary from 6 in 2016, up to 8 in 2017 but down to 1 in 2018.
Domestic Violence went from 10 in 2016, up to 19 in 2017 but back down to 6 in 2018.
