The sub-freezing temps that have swept across the U.S. has finally made snowfall here in Middle Tennessee, bringing joy to the students of Rutherford County schools.

This marked the first snowfall of the year for Rutherford County and the schools made the decision 20 minutes before classes began, to cancel school for the day.

The light dusting of snow made for a playful morning for students. There was not enough to snow them in however, it was enough to try and catch snowflakes outside.

The flurries that did settle on the ground  melted within a couple of hours. The first snow of the season was short lived for Rutherford County students, but nonetheless a joyous one.
