Videojournalism Practices
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
The School of Journalism and Strategic Media needs to get a count of all equipment that is currently checked out. If you have equipment that you checked out prior to the break, I need you to email me to tell me what you all have in your possession. That goes for DSLR's, Tascams, or Sony kits. It's fine that you still have it, but we need to get an accurate count of what is all out. The equipment will be due back at the term end. That would require you to bring it for drop off at the MTSU Police Station (Not set in stone yet), or mailed back to us via UPS. MTSU SoJSM would pay for shipping. But it would require you to take it to the UPS near you.

Please email me asap to let me know what you all have. Also list if you have a tripod as well. Hope you are all continuing to be safe and remain healthy.
Students are required to watch each lecture and write a written report with at least eight (8) lessons learned from the lecture. Each report must be at least eight sentences in length. Reports will be submitted via email to Daniel.Eschenfelder@mtsu.edu.

Each report will be graded as Project 2.
Lectures
Required Projects
Project 1. VOSOT-
If you have not already completed project one (VOSOT), please finish it and submit the script via email. Take a picture of your script (written in ENPS) and email it to me. Everyone still has access to ENPS. Go to apps,MTSU.edu. You will need to download the Citrix receiver.

Upload the video (VOSOT) to your YouTube channel and send me the link. I must have both the link and the script to grade it.

Project 2. VOSOT- (Canceled)

Project 3. PKG-
Since we are all required to remain indoors (our apartments/homes) I can't require anyone to go out to report. Instead I am requiring each of you to shoot a full PKG indoors. You can interview family members. The story topic I want everyone to do is: "How the Coronavirus and the recommended quarantine has affected you and your family.

Some of you checked out cameras prior to spring break. You may use that equipment. For those of you who do not have cameras, use your cell phone. You will need to connect your cell phones to your computers to off-load the video. Or you can drop-box or WeTransfer the files to yourself. (WeTransfer.com)

PKG requirements are still the same. Must have two people interviewed. You must have reporter track. I also want to see some creative nats...so I am requiring at least one nats. pop. I also want to see your ability to shoot a sequence, so I'm requiring at least one sequence.

Completed PKGS need to be uploaded to your YouTube channel and send me the link. Write the script in ENPS and take a pic of the script. Send me the pic.

Computers/Equipment-
Each of you now has access to Adobe Premiere Pro. Mike Forbes (Engineer Michael.Forbes@MTSU.edu) notified us this week that Adobe has granted the licenses. You will need to download it to your home computer. Or you can download the temporary 30 day trial.

If you do not have a home computer, please contact me to let me know. The university has made arrangements to get you one.

I appreciate each of your contributions and realize this is a difficult time. Please make safety and the health of you and your family a priority. Again, I am not requiring any of you to step outside your homes. I'm giving you my personal cell number in case you need to text or call.

Best,
Dan Eschenfelder
